Fluoride Treatments
What Is Fluoride?
At Mehan Dental, we are using the next generation of Fluoride called Fluorimax varnish, a 2.5% Sodium Fluoride varnish. This varnish dries within 5 seconds of the application allowing you to eat and drink immediately after treatment. We just ask that you don’t brush and floss for 4 hours after the application.
What is Fluoride used for?
It helps to prevent cavities, reduces teeth sensitivity, and promotes the remineralization of the enamel
How long does Fluoride last on teeth?
The fluoride varnish will last on your teeth 4-6 hours but the benefits will last for several months
How often do you need Fluoride treatments?
We recommend a fluoride application at every hygiene appointment, for patients experiencing dry mouth symptoms or are prone to recurring cavities, we recommend fluoride application every 2 – 3 months
