Root Canal Therapy
What are Root Canals?
A root canal procedure is done on teeth where the nerve has been damaged by injury or infected by decay. This procedure allows the tooth to remain in the jaw and restores it to its natural function.
Who are good candidates for Root Canals?
Root canals can be done on adult and baby teeth. It is important to determine if there will be enough tooth structure remaining after all of the decay has been removed to restore the tooth before beginning root canal therapy.
What are the symptoms?
Symptoms will vary from an incidental finding on a routine X-ray to severe pain to hot and/or cold that is long in duration, throbbing pain, pain on biting, and severe pain keeping you awake at night.
